How to construct a sentence with wish?
After wish, when the wish is about the present, use [past simple]/were (subjunctive mood) because you are describing an imaginary situation in the present.
For example, a phrase like this:
I wish I were more attentive.
(you will be asked to create an account if you do not have one)
